Delicious while still warm with a scoop of caramel ice cream!
base
recheio
……… Aquecer o forno a 180C. Retirar do fogo e deixar arrefecer. |
crust
filling
……… Preheat oven to 350F. Prepare the crust: mix together the flour, sugar and salt, then add the butter and knead until it resembles crumbs. Add the cold water until the dough holds together. Form a ball, wrap plastic wrap and place in refrigerator. Peel and cut the apples into cubes. Place on a non-stick frying pan the sliced apples, lemon juice, the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon and cook until apples are golden and soft. Remove from heat and let cool. Beat the eggs with the sugar and then add the flour. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until large enough to cover a 9 inch pie plate (if the dough is crumbly add butter and knead a bit more). Spread the apples over the pie dough. Pour the egg mixture over the apples and bake for about 40 minutes or until pie is golden brown and firm. Ideally, line the edge of pie with foil to prevent from burning. |
